Key steps include an alkynyl ketone-benzocyclobutane Diels-Alder reaction to construct the C,D-ring naphthalene subunit, a Heck cyclization to form the quaternary carbon, and a ring closing metathesis to add the A-ring. © 2007 American Chemical Society.
