The other chemical species present in wastewater do not interfere with Raman measurements of NO2-/NO3- bands. We observe detection limits of <14 μM (<200 ppb) for both NO2- and NO3-. UV resonance Raman spectroscopy appears to be an excellent tool for on-line monitoring of NO2-/NO3- in wastewater for the real-time control of water treatment plants. date: 2002-03-15 date_type: published publication: Analytical Chemistry volume: 74 number: 6 pagerange: 1458 - 1461 refereed: TRUE issn: 0003-2700 id_number: 10.1021/ac010863q pmid: 11922318 mesh_headings: Industrial Waste mesh_headings: Nitrates--analysis mesh_headings: Nitrites--analysis mesh_headings: Sensitivity and Specificity mesh_headings: Spectrophotometry, Ultraviolet--methods mesh_headings: Spectrum Analysis, Raman--methods mesh_headings: Water Pollutants, Chemical--analysis chemical_names: Industrial Waste chemical_names: Nitrates chemical_names: Nitrites chemical_names: Water Pollutants, Chemical citation: Ianoul, A and Coleman, T and Asher, SA (2002) UV resonance raman spectroscopic detection of nitrate and nitrite in wastewater treatment processes.
