The methods employ stimulated emission pumping to selectively excite a fraction of the population of a single conformation of TRA to well-defined ground-state vibration levels. The method uses collisions as an integral part of the experimental scheme. Hole-filling methods can also be applied to the study of isomerization in a much wider range of contexts.
