Abstract

In a recent Letter, Faken et al. described a new algorithm for global optimization that used extra dimensions to go around energy barriers in the physical three-dimensional (3D) space. The present work describes an improvement to this algorithm and also explores how its performance depends on the number of non-physical dimensions. © 2003 Published by Elsevier B.V.
