Abstract

A study was performed on dipole-bound anions of 27 molecules containing either a carbonyl, sulfoxide or nitrile group. Rydberg electron transfer (RET) reactions with rubidium atoms excited to ns2S and nd2D excited states were used for the purpose. The dependencies of the electron affinity upon dipole moment, dispersion interaction, polarizability, conformation and geometry of the molecules were also investigated.
